Rising Together: Advancing Equality & Justice in The Workplace, NELA Nineteenth Annual Convention

Wednesday June 25 - Saturday June 28 , 2008

Join the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) for its 2008 Nineteenth Annual Convention on June 25-28, 2008 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Home to prominent leaders of the Civil Rights Movement - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Congressman John Lewis, and the Reverend Joseph Lowery - Atlanta is the birthplace of historical events that have shaped the American workplace. NELA looks forward to Rising Together: Advancing Equality & Justice In The Workplace as we honor the pioneers of the 20th century's civil rights struggle, and reflect upon the great debt that we owe to them as well as to the thousands of civil rights marchers and activists whose contributions led to the laws that we use every day to protect workers in the 21st century.
The National Campaign to Restore Civil Rights has published an article in the Clearinghouse Review examining the potential impact of the Civil Rights Act of 2008. You can read the summary of the article here, or download the full pdf version of the article.
