Honoring Congressman Barney Frank, Eva Jefferson Paterson and Paul H. Tobias
With Music, Dancing & Talent Show Featuring NELA Members-"NELA's Got Talent"

To mark a momentous 25 years of employee rights advocacy, NELA is making special plans for our 2010 Gala Fundraiser, which will be held during our 2010 Annual Convention, "NELA at 25: Don't Stop Believing." You are cordially invited to join us for NELA's Got Talent: Honoring 25 Years of Change on Friday, June 25 at The Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., the site of our 2010 Convention. On this celebratory evening, NELA will honor three extraordinary individuals who have dedicated themselves to Working for Change: Congressman Barney Frank, one of our country's most effective and committed leaders in promoting and defending civil rights; Eva Jefferson Paterson, Founder & President of the Equal Justice Society, who has campaigned for civil rights with passion, courage and tenacity for more than three decades; and NELA's own Founder Paul H. Tobias, whose vision of the significance of lawyers in furthering equality and justice in the workplace led to NELA's creation and continues to propel us forward.

In addition to inspiring remarks by our three honorees, the evening will include music, dancing and a talent show, NELA's Got Talent, which will highlight the hidden and not-so-hidden talents of NELA members. Participation is open to all - it is not too early to start planning your act and submit your Talent Show application to NELA Headquarters. Both group and individual acts are welcome!

The proceeds from NELA's Got Talent: Honoring 25 Years Of Change will support NELA's initiatives to advance equality and justice in the workplace, as we celebrate what we have accomplished over the last 25 years. Who would have thought 25 years ago that NELA would have a robust Working for Change agenda and a thriving office in our nation's capital? Who would have imagined 25 years ago that NELA could count among its many accomplishments passage of the attorney's fees provision of the Civil Rights Tax Relief Act and playing a major role in drafting legislation such as the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Arbitration Fairness Act, ADA Amendments Act, Protection of Older Workers Against Discrimination Act, Civil Rights Act of 2008, and the Jamie Leigh Jones Amendment to the 2010 Department of Defense Appropriations? Who would have expected 25 years ago that NELA would have its own public interest organization, The Employee Rights Advocacy Institute For Law & Policy? We all did - because in the words of Senator Edward Kennedy, "If you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there."

None of these achievements would have been possible without the thousands of individuals like you who have generously supported NELA over the years. We need your ongoing support to achieve our shared dream of equality and justice in the American workplace. Please consider supporting NELA's Got Talent: Honoring 25 Years of Change.
