DOES DIVERSITY MATTER?

We think so, but we want to hear directly from young people nationwide about why and how diversity matters. Even though our "Kids Speakout" writing contests have ended we still want to hear from you.

Email us your essay or quote or click on the links below to print the submission forms.

WHAT IS DIVERSITY?
The word diversity means lots of different types of things. Think of how many kinds of fruits, or T-shirts, or books there are. How about all of the many types of housing and transportation that exist? Or the amazing variety of birds, plants, and fish found all over the world?

Look around your town or city and around your school. How many shades of skin color do you see? Then think about the different ways people in your community worship, work, and play. Where do their families come from? What languages do they speak to communicate? How do they study and learn at school? It's not the same for everyone -- that's for sure.

CIVIL RIGHTS 2.0
The Campaign wants videos from people ages 16-25 responding to the question:

"What are you and your generation doing for civil rights today?"

The National Campaign to Restore Civil Rights works to ensure that the courts protect and preserve justice, fairness, and opportunity for everyone.
